Blow Upon Me!

Blow upon me O wind of God. Breathe upon me O Spirit of the Lord. Make my hands like those of skilled musicians. Let me hear the melodies of heaven.

When musicians were called in scripture it was anointed music that silenced the noise of the world so people could hear the whisper of the Spirit. Tormenting spirits lifted, clarity of thought returned, eyes opened to the supernatural and ears heard the voice of God’s wisdom. Oh that we could hear the melodies of heaven with harmonies of supernatural beauty that transcend any and all symphonic masterpieces we experience here.

While on earth, minor chords are a part of every song and the resolve brings rest to the soul and completion of musical phrase. However, heaven’s melodies will have no need of resolve for in His presence and kingdom there is no dissonance, only pure worship.

In this journey through life we are surrounded by and shielded with songs of deliverance. As we hang our harps in the willows, praying for the wind of God to blow and make music of the noise in the land of our captivity, my prayer is to open our ears to the melodies of heaven.

Let my life be a sweet song of praise to Thee!
